but with twilight being much newer then the angel series, there are more edward cullen fans nowadays then angel fans.
i think angel had more depth to his character then edward cullen does in the twilight movies, also is edward cullen not a copy of the angel character from buffy.
and angel more original then edward cullen actually is, though angel is probably a copy of a earlier show though.
i think a lot of twilight saga new moon and the upcoming twilight eclipse 2010 fans of robert pattinson who plays vampire edward cullen, would vote for edward cullen as being there favourite out of angel and spike etc.

though in buffy the vampire slayer movie from 1992 there was no angel character and the vampire spike was played by a good guy as beverly hills 90210 acter luke perry:
spike later played as a vampire by james marsters in the more recent buffy the vampire slayer:
so that's now spike, james marsters and luke perry versus angel and edward cullen, edward cullen looks the palest out of the other vampires:
